Catering Operations Manager

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Catering Operations Manager to oversee our catering operations. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service and catering management, with a passion for delivering exceptional customer experiences. This role involves managing catering events from planning to execution, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.

Duties

• Plan, organize, and coordinate catering events, including menu selection and logistics.
• Supervise kitchen staff and ensure proper food preparation, cooking, and presentation.
• Maintain high standards of food safety and hygiene in accordance with health regulations.
• Manage inventory and ordering of food supplies while ensuring cost-effective purchasing.
• Utilize POS systems such as Micros POS for order management and cash handling.
• Provide excellent customer service by addressing client needs and preferences effectively.
• Lead a team of catering staff, providing training in food handling, serving techniques, and hospitality best practices.
• Conduct interviews and assist in the hiring process for new team members.
• Collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless event execution.
• Monitor event progress to ensure client satisfaction throughout the catering experience.
• Assist the Executive Chef in menu planning and development, ensuring creativity and seasonal relevance.
• Supervise kitchen staff, providing guidance and training on food preparation techniques and safety standards.
• Oversee daily kitchen operations, including inventory management, food ordering, and maintaining cleanliness.
• Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety standards.
• Prepare high-quality dishes in accordance with restaurant standards while maintaining consistency.
• Collaborate with front-of-house staff to ensure seamless service during peak hours.
• Monitor food presentation and portion control to maintain quality standards.
• Assist in managing kitchen schedules and staff assignments to optimize workflow

Requirements

• Minimum 5 years in sales, catering business for 10 years
• Class 5 driving license - be able to drive mini vans to the venues
• Proven experience in restaurant management or a similar role within the food industry.
• Strong leadership skills with experience in team management and supervising staff.
• Knowledge of food preparation, cooking techniques, and kitchen operations.
• Familiarity with cash handling procedures and POS systems (Micros POS preferred).
• Excellent customer service skills with the ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in planning events.
• Experience in food safety regulations and best practices for food handling.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $62,000.00-$95,000.00 per year
