Finning Canada is looking for the best Journeyperson Heavy Duty Mechanics (Red Seal) to join our Integrated Mining Team (IMT) in BC. Our Integrated Mining Team is responsible for the troubleshooting, maintenance and repair of a variety of Caterpillar general line, power systems and mining equipment throughout Northern BC and the Yukon. This role offers an opportunity to work on ultra-class Caterpillar mining equipment, and service machinery for the biggest players in the industry.

• 14x14 continuous day and night shift rotations

Job Description:
Major Job Functions:

• Troubleshoot and repair Caterpillar equipment in an active mine environment
• Perform field diagnosis and field running repairs
• Utilize Caterpillar SIS and ET daily
• Complete technical documentation (service reports, warranty, crossover notes, site failure reports)
• Interact with customers, sales support, and the rest of the Finning team
• Work with the Service Supervisor and Leadhand on various tasks as required
• Candidate selection will be in accordance with the current Collective Agreement**

Qualifications:

• Interprovincial Heavy Equipment Technician (HET) Certification
• Red Seal Off Road certificate required
• Valid driver's license with a successful recent drivers abstract
• Proven field experience with a preference for experience in mining operations
• Safety conscious team player with excellent organizational, interpersonal, and communication skills with a high attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Computer literacy along with an understanding of Finning systems and software programs would be considered assets

**Any future shift changes that may occur will be made in accordance with the terms and conditions of the Collective Agreement**

Important Details:

• This position is based on a 14x14 continuous day shift/night shift rotation
• A condition of employment is the ability to obtain Customer Site access (Drug & Alcohol, fitness testing) and wear a respirator where applicable
• Union Membership: You are required to become a member of the Union associated with this position. This will be effective immediately and will result in union dues being deducted from your pay. The terms and conditions of your employment will be governed by the collective agreement.
