Gateway Facilities ULC, located at Halifax International Airport, is the premier integrated transportation network on North America's East Coast. Our 7000 square foot warehouse is the largest facility of its kind north of Miami.

Job Description : The individual in this position will be responsible for accepting and tendering air cargo for air carriers that we represent. They will be required to learn the systems for each air carrier and represent the carriers meeting all expectations and culture. The individual will be required to do all documentation and physically handle the freight while ensuring that all Transport Canada regulations are met.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ensure you have a full understanding of Transport Canada regulations and abide by them while maintain all necessary records and standards - Training available
  • Maintain a high level of customer service
  • Prioritize work flow to ensure Customer Satisfaction
  • Process and resolve operational problems in your department as they arise and provide support to all departments
  • Make sure all necessary reports are complete, timely and accurate
  • Maintain accurate record keeping as required by various government agencies and Company policies
  • Adhere to all Policies and Procedures
  • Facilitate the communication of critical information in a timely manner
  • Liaison with carriers booking agents and freight forwarders
  • Comply with other general office duties as assigned
  • Operation of forklift
  • Loading and unloading trucks

Qualifications

  • High School diploma or GED equivalent
  • Customer Focus and quality awareness
  • Effective interpersonal skills in a fast pace environment
  • Ability to complete tasks with a high degree of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Problem solving skills
  • Excellent organizational and communication skills
  • Available for shift work and irregular work hours, which includes early mornings, evenings, weekends and statutory holidays
  • Paid training provided.
  • MUST be a Permanent Residence of Canada or hold Canadian citizenship status to apply.
  • MUST PROVIDE a criminal background check issued by local Police.
  • MUST PROVIDE original birth certificate, which is needed for Transport Canada application.
  • MUST PROVIDE original valid passport, which is needed for Transport Canada application.
  • Hold a valid forklift license is considered an asset.
  • Two years or more of customer service experience or airline experience is considered an asset.
  • Hold a Airside Vehicle Operator's Permit (AVOP) an asset.
  • Hold a Transport Canada, Restricted Area Identity Card (RAIC) an asset.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $18.50 per hour
