We are currently recruiting multiple persons for the position of Mechanical Assembler in the completions department. As an Assembler you will be required to perform tasks involving physical labor at our manufacturing plant and will be required to operate a variety of hand and power tools. Successful candidates will understand mechanical systems or have experience in the transportation industry. Must have own tools.
Main Responsibilities
- Read drawings, and other technical diagrams.
- Install structural, running gear, and suspension components.
- Installation of wheels and tires, Install wood decking
- Use material handling equipment such as forklift and overhead cranes.
- Lubricate, clean, maintain equipment, and tools.
- Load and unload trailers ready for delivery
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Secondary Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain a regular cleaning schedule to ensure the shop is kept tidy and well organized upon completion of work assignments
- Ensure racking is kept in an order that work orders are easily accessible
- Attend toolbox meeting prior to shift
Attributes and Skills
- Ability to operate required equipment in a safe and responsible manner.
- Ability to read blueprints, and other technical diagrams.
- Strong working mechanical knowledge of machines and tools,
- Organizational, planning and time management skills.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude will be the primary qualification
- Knowledge of workplace safety and safe lifting and handling procedures.
- Must have a strong work ethic
- Must be quick to learn new skills
- Strong attention to detail
Physical Requirements
- Physically fit and able to lift 50 lbs - fitness test required
- Ability to lift heavy objects, walk and stand for long periods of time and perform physical labor.
- Be able to bend, crouch and kneel for extended periods.
- Ability to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Hazards associated with the industry.
Shift Availability
- Days - Monday to Friday 7:00 am - 3:30 pm
- Afternoons - Monday - Thursday 2:00 pm - 12:30 am
