Position Summary:

The Maintenance Coordinator supports the engineering and maintenance department by coordinating daily operations, service requests, contractor visits, inventory management, and preventive maintenance scheduling. This role ensures maintenance tasks are tracked, prioritized, and completed efficiently to uphold the safety, comfort, and standards of the hotel property.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Coordinate and prioritize maintenance work orders and preventive maintenance schedules.
  • Act as the primary liaison between hotel management, engineering staff, and external contractors/vendors.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, including logs, reports, and service histories.
  • Assist in planning and tracking CAPEX and routine maintenance projects.
  • Monitor inventory and order supplies, parts, and tools as needed.
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and fire protection standards.
  • Support the engineering department with reporting, budgeting, and administrative tasks.
  • Respond to urgent maintenance requests and help communicate updates to relevant departments.
  • Conduct periodic inspections and audits to assess facility conditions and identify maintenance needs.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; technical training or certification in maintenance or engineering is an asset.
  • Previous experience in hospitality or facilities maintenance coordination preferred.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills.
  • Proficiency with CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management System) or work order software.
  • Ability to multitask and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Knowledge of general building systems (HVAC, plumbing, electrical) is an advantage.

Work Conditions:

  • Typically works in an office environment within the hotel but may need to perform occasional inspections in guest and service areas.
  • May involve evening/weekend availability depending on operational needs.
