Role Summary
The Construction Manager leads mechanical construction operations in Kingston, overseeing project execution and team performance. This role is responsible for managing multiple projects, mentoring project teams, and ensuring seamless delivery of Modern Niagara's core services while maintaining strong client relationships.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Participate in estimating turnover and pre-construction meetings.
  • Ensure successful completion and profitability of assigned projects.
  • Establish project objectives, policies, procedures, and performance standards.
  • Monitor and control construction progress to maintain schedule and budget.
  • Mentor, coach, and supervise Project Managers and Coordinators.
  • Collaborate with Labour Managers to optimize resource utilization.
  • Manage financial aspects of contracts and monthly forecasting.
  • Assist with contract reviews and negotiations; liaise with legal counsel as needed.
  • Develop and implement project plans upon award.
  • Monitor progress, costs, and budgets throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Advise management on project status and resolve disputes as needed.
  • Identify and negotiate changes in project scope.
  • Ensure adherence to Modern Niagara's operating policies and safety standards.
  • Develop and implement quality control and commissioning plans.
  • Build and maintain positive relationships with trades, clients, engineers, suppliers, and subcontractors.

Must-haves:

  • 5–10 years of experience in construction project management, specifically on large commercial, industrial, or institutional projects.
  • Thorough knowledge of construction methods, technology, equipment, materials, and safety.
  • Experience with various project delivery methods, including Design-Build and P3.
  • Strong financial acumen and ability to work with data and analytics.
  • Superior communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to apply innovative management techniques to maximize team performance.

Nice-to-haves:

  • Advanced leadership experience in multi-trade environments.
  • Proven ability to grow regional operations and client relationships.

This is a new position. Expected annual compensation; $75,000 - $105,000
