Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires strong mechanical knowledge, proficiency with hand tools and power tools, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure that all equipment such as excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery operate safely and reliably to support our operations.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance, inspections, and repairs on heavy equipment including excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
  • Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues using schematics and diagnostic tools
  • Conduct welding and fabrication tasks as needed for equipment repair or assembly
  • Use hand tools, power tools, and specialized machinery to disassemble, repair, and reassemble equipment components
  • Maintain detailed service records and ensure compliance with safety standards
  • Assist in the installation of new equipment and perform preventive maintenance to minimize downtime
  • Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs when necessary
  • Collaborate with other team members to ensure timely completion of repairs and maintenance tasks
  • Adhere to safety protocols related to heavy lifting, electrical systems, and hazardous materials

Qualifications

  • Proven mechanic experience with heavy industrial equipment; dealership experience is a plus
  • Strong knowledge of Caterpillar, HVAC systems, electrical systems, and schematics
  • Experience working with excavators, cranes, forklifts, and farm machinery
  • Skilled in welding, assembly, troubleshooting electrical issues, and using hand tools or power tools
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment when required
  • Familiarity with automotive repair techniques applicable to heavy machinery
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with attention to detail
  • Good customer service skills for interacting with clients or internal teams regarding repairs or maintenance needs
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment

Pay: $58,289.99-$201,880.29 per year
