Job DescriptionDo you have an entrepreneurial spirit and a passion for accounting? Akeroyd Leung Amlani is a growing public practice firm located downtown Vancouver. We are looking for a Chartered Public Accountant to join our team as a Senior Accountant.
Akeroyd Leung Amlani ("ALA") is looking for a Chartered Public Accountant with an interest in supporting small to medium sized private businesses. You are a natural leader, committed to delivering exceptional quality service with high-performance results. You take charge of projects, navigating multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment with confidence. With a keen entrepreneurial spirit, you want to be a leader in our firm and progress to Manager.
Your Key Responsibilities
Reporting to a Senior Manager and Partner. You will be working with a wide-range of clients, providing a personal approach to advisory for small to mid-size businesses.
- Prepare compilation and review engagements
- Assist with a small number of private company audit engagements
- Preparation of complex T1 and T2 corporate tax returns
- Mentor a small team of junior staff
- Manage the firm's engagements and filing deadlines
- Work directly with partners on technical tax compliance and tax planning engagements
- Develop and present training seminars to the staff
Key Skills and Qualifications
You have previous public practice experience and are willing to 'roll up your sleeves' and mentor your co-workers. You possess strong technical accounting and tax knowledge and are comfortable learning new systems and technology.
- You have a CPA designation;
- You are proficient with Microsoft Office, Quickbooks Online, and Simply Accounting;
- You have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal;
- You are very organized, punctual, detail-oriented and able to fluidly prioritize tasks;
- You work with deliberate speed and accuracy, without requiring active supervision;
- You are friendly, personable and able to build positive working relationships with your co-workers and clients;
- You have the ability to exercise good judgment in recognizing scope of authority and protecting confidential information;
- You have a strong desire to learn and the ability to take initiative and to be proactive.
