About the Ottawa Parent Resource Centre

The Ottawa Parent Resource Centre (PRC) supports caregivers and families across Ottawa with responsive, evidence-informed programs and services that strengthen parenting capacity, wellbeing, and connection.

Purpose

The Family Resilience Program Manager (FRPM) is a senior leadership role with the PRC that combines clinical service delivery and mental health consultancy with program leadership. The FRPM supports a diversity of families within the Ottawa community through tailored parenting courses, groups, workshops as well as one-to-onecounselling support, including in-home visitations. The FRPM also oversees the daily management of the Parent Support Phone Line, ensuring timely response, appropriate triage, documentation, and warm referrals to internal and community supports.

As a senior leader within the organization, the Family Resilience Program Manager ensures that service delivery supports the Parent Resource Centre's strategic priorities and mandate and reports to the Board of Directors, stakeholders, donors and funders as required. 
The FRPM further consults with service providers in the community and supports referrals to and from the PRC's Family Resilience Program.
They also ensure that the programs and services the PRC offers are based on current, evidence-based best-practices and comply with all relevant regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities

Direct Service & Clinical Support

  • Facilitates parenting groups, workshops and supports groups based on the needs of the clients, community and PRC's strategic direction.
  • Provides one-to-one parent support in office, virtually, over the phone or in the client's home.
  • Coordinates and supervises client care with FRP staff and contractors.
  • Serves as the primary lead for the Parent Support Phone Line, ensuring timely responses, effective triage, accurate documentation, and consistent database management.
  • Conducts and oversees program intakes and ensure timely referrals to appropriate community supports

Program Design, Curriculum Development & Quality

  • Plans, develops and manages all parent related programs and services under the Family Resilience Program.
  • Designs curricula, session plans, facilitation guides, and participant materials grounded in evidence-informed practice and adult learning principles.
  • Identifies, develops, and integrates resources and tools that strengthen program quality and outcomes.
  • Implements program evaluation approaches, measurement and outcomes approaches, including data collection and analysis and uses findings for reporting and quality improvement.

Leadership
& People Management

  • Supervises and mentors FRP staff (full-time, part-time, contract), students and volunteers; supports scheduling, role clarity and team functioning.
  • Participates in hiring, onboarding, training and professional development of FRP staff; provides ongoing feedback and conducts annual reviews.
  • Creates and manages an annual departmental workplan that reflects best-practice and advances equity, inclusion and culturally responsive service delivery.
  • Attends and contributes to staff, team and supervision meetings.

Community Partnerships

& System Collaboration

  • Promotes PRC's mission and Family Resilience Program services; participates in strategic networks and community committees in coordination with the Executive Director.
  • Builds and maintains collaborative relationships with community agencies and stakeholders to improve outcomes for families and priority populations.
  • Strengthens referral pathways to and from PRC and contributes to integrated community strategies.

Strategy, Funding & Operations

  • Supports Strategic Planning with the Executive Director, Board of Directors, and staff.
  • Identifies funding opportunities and supports grant applications related to FRP delivery.
  • Coordinates with the Executive Director on program budgeting; approves expenditures within guidelines and meets program needs within annual budget.
  • Maintains accurate and timely client records, information and database management.
  • Supports the development of social media and website content related to the program.

Required Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum
    5 years

of progressive experience developing and delivering
front-line programs and services

for children and families in a community-based or social service setting, with demonstrated ability to support
diverse populations

Assets

Education

  • Degree in Social Work, Counselling, Psychology, Education/Early Childhood Education, or other equivalent relevant post-secondary education training.

Language

  • Fluent in English, oral and written
  • Bilingualism/multilingualism an asset

Additional Requirements

  • Criminal Reference Check for the Vulnerable Sector is required
  • Ability to work some evening and weekend shifts as required
  • Maintain all required professional accreditation/credentials in good standing

Salary
$65,000 to $75,000/annual

Hours
 
Full-time position (35 hours/week); some evening and weekend shifts will be required
