Job Description

Active File Management (AFM) supports the Government of Alberta's digital transformation initiatives by providing digitization services and records management support across departments. This role involves handling physical records, data entry, and preparing files for large-scale digitization projects.

Tasks

Key Responsibilities

  • Apply file classification structures and retention schedules to records
  • Perform records inventory and enter data into spreadsheets and system templates
  • Index, sort, file, label, and box paper records
  • Verify accuracy and completeness of data
  • Scan and prepare records for digitization and clean-up projects
  • Lift and move boxed records weighing up to 30 lbs
  • Use tools such as PaperStream, SharePoint Online, and Microsoft Excel/Outlook
  • Perform other related duties as required
Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
  • Basic to intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Excel and Outlook
  • Ability to work in an on-site environment
  • Ability to handle confidential information responsibly
  • Comfortable with repetitive tasks and physical file handling
