The Opportunity

Shape Something Different – This is your chance to make an impact as an Assistant Project Coordinator (Student) for Land Development and Municipal projects based out of our Edmonton office. This 6–8 month term starting April/May 2026 offers hands-on experience in project coordination, surveying, and construction documentation, all while contributing to meaningful infrastructure projects across Alberta.

Your Impact

  • Support construction inspection and documentation alongside the lead Project Coordinator.
  • Perform construction survey layout and topographic surveys for Edmonton and Northern Alberta projects.
  • Assist in resolving construction issues with guidance from project managers and engineers.
  • Interpret survey and field data to ensure accuracy and compliance.
  • Prepare quantity measurements, daily reports, and participate in construction meetings.
  • Complete construction as-builting for record-keeping and approval purposes.
  • Assist with HSE processes, record keeping, and day-to-day project coordination tasks.
  • Communicate and schedule with municipal inspectors to ensure compliance with contract standards.

The Skills That Set You Apart

  • Enrolled in a Civil Engineering or Construction Technology program (or recent graduate).
  • Related experience in Civil Engineering is beneficial.
  • Familiarity with AutoCAD / Civil 3D; proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
  • Eligible for registration with APEGA / ASET as TT, CET, or PTECH.
  • Comfortable working in both office and field environments, including physical tasks.
  • Ability to work long hours on your feet and complete physical tasks.
  • Valid driver's license and access to a suitable working vehicle.

Compensation

BC, AB, SK, NWT & NU: $24.00 – $32.25
MB & ON: $22.50 – $30.25
Atlantic Provinces & QC: $21.50 – $30.25
