Rope Access Lev 3 Tech

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking Level 3 IRATA Technicians to support operations on our newest site located in Kitimat BC. 

• Position is based locally in Kitimat BC. (relocation is required)
• Immediate start dates
• Position will be 40 hrs/week and possible overtime
• Salary range up to $63.50/hr depending on certifications
• We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.

The IRATA Level 3 technician will carry out the following

• Oversee and manage the day-to-day operations of technicians, including reviewing and approving timesheets, Field Level Risk Assessments, and addressing deficiencies with constructive feedback.
• Plan, organize, and supervise rope access work in full compliance with IRATA standards, company procedures, and site safety requirements.
• Provide technical guidance, mentoring, training, and skills development to Level 1 and Level 2 technicians, ensuring safe and efficient task execution.
• Act as the primary rescue technician, prepared to implement and lead rescue procedures in the event of an incident or equipment failure.
• Conduct risk assessments, prepare method statements, maintain equipment logs, and complete required safety and inspection reports.
• Assist in investigating and documenting near misses, safety incidents, and non-conformances.
• Serve as the primary emergency contact, ensuring 24/7 cell phone availability.
• Perform necessary services when no other personnel are available to complete critical tasks.

• IRATA Level 3 Certification
• Journeyman ticket in either Pipefitting or Insulation 
• minimum 3 years of heavy rigging experience
• Swagelok certification would be an asset
• Pipefitters will require a Mechanical background and solid understanding of Hydraulic system pumps etc
• Insulators will require experience working with cryogenic insulation
• 1st aid certification and all safety certifications as required within BC
• located in Kitimat BC or willingness to relocate.

Additionally, preference will be given to the candidates with the following

• Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
• Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
• Previous exposure to working on ship berthing terminals & loading arms
• Experience in offshore work or tasks conducted over water
• Background in mechanical operations
