JP Insulator with IRATA Rope Access Certification

Tacten is seeking professional, energetic and forward-thinking JP Insulators with IRATA certification to support operations on our site located in Kitimat BC. 

LNG Canada is the first LNG export facility in Canada and Tacten has been awarded the maintenance contract for this site. 

Tacten will be providing the maintenance services utilizing rope access technology and all Insulators will be required to obtain IRATA Training and Certification

• Position is based locally in Kitimat BC.
• Immediate Start date
• Position will be 40 hrs./week and possible overtime
• Salary range $58.00/hr. depending on certifications
• We are able to offer up to 3 months of temporary housing to assist with your relocation transition if required.
• Certifications are required with application

This is a unique opportunity to contribute to the project's startup's success by implementing innovative work techniques, fostering a collaborative environment, and driving advancements in our operations.

• Install insulation materials, such as foam, fiberglass, or mineral wool, to prevent heat transfer, reduce energy consumption, or control sound.
• Measure and cut insulation materials to fit specific areas.
• Secure insulation in place using appropriate fasteners and adhesives.
• Regularly inspect insulation for signs of wear, damage, or degradation.
• Replace or repair insulation that has become compromised.
• Recommend and implement improvements or upgrades to enhance insulation performance.
• Consult with clients or project managers to determine insulation needs based on factors like temperature requirements, acoustic considerations, or electrical insulation needs.
• Provide recommendations on the most suitable insulation materials and techniques for different environments.
• Collaborate with construction or maintenance teams to ensure proper installation according to specifications.

• JM Insulator (if Non-Ticketed a summary of hours must be provided)
• IRATA Level 1 or 2 Rope Access certification
• Current safety certifications as required in BC
• located in Kitimat BC or willing to relocate

Additionally, preference will be given to the candidates with the following

• Proficiency/experience in trades/industrial settings
• Familiarity with LNG (Liquefied Natural Gas) operations
• Background in mechanical operations
