Job Description

House of Spice Restaurant in Summerside, PEI is seeking a full-time Restaurant Manager to oversee daily operations and ensure high standards of food quality, customer service, and staff performance. The ideal candidate will have prior experience working in an Indian restaurant environment along with proven management experience.

Job Duties and Responsibilities

The Restaurant Manager will be responsible for the following duties:

  • Plan, organize, direct, control, and evaluate the overall operations of the restaurant
  • Supervise, coordinate, and schedule the activities of staff, including servers, kitchen staff, and support personnel
  • Recruit, train, and onboard new employees and ensure staff performance meets restaurant standards
  • Establish work schedules and procedures and ensure proper staffing levels at all times
  • Monitor food quality, presentation, portion control, and compliance with hygiene and safety regulations
  • Handle customer inquiries, feedback, and complaints in a professional and timely manner
  • Manage inventory, order supplies, and maintain relationships with vendors and suppliers
  • Control operational costs, prepare budgets, and review sales and financial reports
  • Ensure compliance with health, safety, and employment regulations
  • Implement and maintain company policies, service standards, and operational procedures
  • Coordinate with the kitchen team to ensure efficient workflow and timely service
  • Assist with menu planning and pricing strategies based on customer demand and cost control

Minimum Qualifications

  • Minimum 1 year of experience working in an Indian restaurant (required)
  • Minimum 1 year of experience in a management or supervisory role in the food service industry
  • Strong understanding of Indian cuisine, service style, and restaurant operations
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays

Additional Assets

  • Valid Food Safety Certification (or willing to obtain one)
  • First Aid / CPR Certification ( willing to obtain one)

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $19.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 40 per week
