Mobile Site Manager - Remote - British Columbia

Job Overview: The Mobile Site Manager will be tasked with the management of an assigned service site across a specific region, aiming to maintain smooth operations, high levels of customer fulfillment, and compliance with safety standards. This role requires significant travel, as you will be assigned to various sites as needed. After initial training/on boarding in Alberta, this position will be located on Northern Vancouver Island for a nominal 12 month period. Future assignments will be located throughout Canada and parts of the US.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Safety and Compliance: Establish and oversee the implementation of safety practices and protocols. Ensure compliance with Vestas's organizational standards and safety regulations.
  • Operational Effectiveness: Cultivate a culture of safety, structure, and continuous improvement. Communicate change management effectively to stakeholders.
  • Team Leadership: Lead and develop a team of Service Technicians. Ensure team members are compliant with safety training and certifications. Establish internal and external partnerships.
  • Customer Relations: Interface with customers, address inquiries, and collaborate with internal departments to resolve issues. Ensure all contractual obligations are met.
  • Financial Management: Manage site budgets, cost allocations, and operational revenues. Input and ensure accurate data in systems like Salesforce and SAP.
  • Continuous Improvement: Develop and deliver continuous improvement plans. Implement LEAN practices at the site.
  • Technical Assistance: Provide technical support to Service Technicians for diagnosing and fixing issues. Ensure team adherence to work instructions and propose improvements.
  • Travel Requirements: This is a 80% travel position with 4 continuous weeks on site and 1 week working from home. Vehicle, accommodation, flights and meals are paid for by Vestas. You may be assigned to any service site within your designated region and occasionally to sites in other regions based on business needs.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience
  • Valid driver's license required; ability to obtain a passport.
  • Experience in P&L management
  • Experience managing safety programs
  • Advanced computer operation and internet-based program navigation skills.

  • Ability to stand and walk for prolonged periods of time.
  • Hearing ability to use telephones, close range radios or related device.
  • Visual acuity including depth perception, field of vision and the ability to distinguish between colors.
  • Ability to stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl as needed, as well as maintain coordination between vision and physical movement and manual dexterity.
  • Ability to climb stairs & vertical ladders to heights of 60 to 100 meters and at times supervise work in confined space environments.
  • Ability to lift, push, pull, carry items up to, but not more than 50 lbs. in weight.
  • Ability to observe training and obtain certification in required safety programs that include LOTO, Electrical, Fall Arrest & High Angle Emergency Decent, and Confined Space.
  • Ability to successfully participate in all training courses, including controlled decent practical exercises.
  • Due to safety parameters of fall protection equipment, the total weight of required PPE and gear shall weigh 300 lbs or less while being worn. Required PPE and gear can weigh up to 40 lbs.
