Plant Operator

Investing years into R&D to create the safest containment system in the world and taking on the industry status quo to petition for higher standards in sharps protection, we witnessed an 80+ percent reduction in disposal-related needlestick injuries nationwide. And then we kept going...

We are looking to hire a Plant Operator for our Daniels' medical waste treatment facility in Brampton. A Plant Operator has a widely varying role, from checking in containers, double checking paperwork, moving/unloading specific waste containers, and operating a forklift to load an autoclave. The ideal Plant Operator is an individual who likes variety in their work and can think through practical problems. 

What will your job involve?

• Receiving and processing of the various waste streams
• Scans waste into Route Optics for proper record keeping purposes
• Maintains the boiler and the autoclave functions to ensure maximum operating efficiency
• Ensures that all waste is properly processed and/or stored in compliance with all regulatory requirements
• Ensures an adequate supply of clean reusable bins and totes are readily available for logistics purposes
• Washes and ensures quality control of all reusable bins and totes
• Ensures housekeeping issues, e.g., spills cleaned up, floor is dry, and debris not on floor, etc., are addressed immediately
• Performs additional duties and assists in other areas of the plant operation as directed by Operations Supervisor

What are we looking for?

• Forklift Operation - Training or certification would be an asset**
• Someone with a can-do attitude who is committed to efficient, timely scheduling that has previous experience in a labor-intensive job. A person with proven longevity with their employers that we can rely on
• Mechanically inclined
