- Responsible to manage the stretcher controls, ensuring that the proper settings are entered so that parts are not over or under stretched
- Understand the stretcher settings and the impact that each setting has on different materials
- Prepare any extruded material for the stretching process
- Detect defects on extruded materials such as stretching and bowing and alert the Press Operator as appropriate
- Able to use measuring devices such as a square and caliper
- Assist in other areas on the line, such as packing, as needed
- Maintain a safe and clean workspace at all times
- Responsible to follow the Occupational Health and Safety Act and all Can Art Company Policies
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Minimum 2 years' experience in a machine operator capacity
- Previous experience in heavy manufacturing is an asset
- Must be able to read and write in English
- Strong attention to detail and ability to perform quality checks
- Good problem-solving skills to troubleshoot machine issues
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and meet production targets
- Plant Environment
- Twelve hour rotating continental shift
- Exposure to loud noise and heat
- May be required to lift up to 50lbs
- Overtime as needed
