Role Overview
The Financial Accountant plays a key role in supporting Qu's day-to-day accounting operations, month-end close, and financial reporting. This position is ideal for a detail-oriented accounting professional who enjoys working in a fast-moving environment and wants to help shape the finance function of a growing technology infrastructure business.
You will work closely with the Assistant Controller and CFO to ensure accurate financial reporting, effective internal controls, and timely completion of monthly and quarterly processes.
Key Responsibilities
General Accounting & Reporting
  • Prepare and post journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations.
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and year-end close processes.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy and ensure compliance with Qu's chart of accounts and accounting policies.
  • Support preparation of internal financial statements and management reports.
Revenue Recognition & Accounts Receivable
  • Maintain and reconcile deferred revenue and revenue recognition schedules in accordance with Qu's accounting policies and standards.
  • Work with the billing and collections team to ensure timely billing and accurate application of payments.
  • Review customer contracts and billing schedules to ensure proper revenue recognition and deferral.
  • Reconcile accounts receivable subledger to the general ledger on a monthly basis.
Banking, Credit Cards & Cash Management
  • Reconcile bank accounts and corporate credit cards monthly.
  • Investigate and resolve variances in card transactions and employee expense submissions.
  • Assist with cash forecasting and reporting on cash position and disbursement activity.
Audit, Tax & Compliance
  • Assist with external audit requests and preparation of working papers.
  • Support preparation of tax filings (GST/HST/QST and corporate income tax).
  • Help maintain documentation for internal controls and support process improvements.
System & Process Support
  • Help implement and enhance financial systems
  • Participate in process automation and standardization projects
Qualifications
  • Education: Diploma or degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business Administration.
  • Experience: 4–5 years of progressive accounting experience
  • Credentials: Working toward CPA designation is an asset.

Technical Skills:
  • Strong Excel and accounting system skills
  • Experience with revenue recognition, deferred revenue accounting, and AR reconciliations.
  • Experience with corporate credit card reconciliations
  • Understanding of IFRS reporting principles.
