Visual Art Instructor

Green Apple Art Centre is a Vancouver-based art school specialized in Visual Arts for all ages. We are looking for an art instructor to lead the painting & drawing programs for grades 10-12 and adults. Candidates must have a keen interest in teaching and be able to motivate and engage students in their artistic and creative pursuits.

Main Responsibilities:

Lead drawing, painting or figure drawing programs in the intro and advanced levels.

  • Demonstrate art techniques and support students to develop their own unique style and personality.
  • Provide constructive feedback, support and direction to enable students to achieve their educational goals.
  • Maintain accurate records of each student's progress

Requirements :

  • Relevant post-secondary degree (BFA or MFA)
  • Min 1 year of experience in teaching students.
  • In-depth knowledge and interest in expanding student knowledge in drawing, painting and figure drawing.
  • Ability to inspire, motivate, and engage students
  • Be able to commit to teaching classes on an ongoing basis (mainly after school and weekends)
  • Excellent classroom, time and organizational skills in a classroom setting
  • Ability to work collaboratively with team members and strong interpersonal skills
  • Strong administration skills and the ability to keep a track record of students progress
