Looking for an Electronics Installation Lead Hand with at least 2 yrs installation experience. $28-35 per hour. Electronics technician college training would be a plus. Supervisory would be a plus too. Must have reliable transportation in the Oakville area.

Are you a trained electronics technician or someone with a few years of experience installing electronics and looking for your next career step? We'd like to meet you

We're looking for an experienced electronics technician who is interested in learning the electronics installation business and serving as a lead hand. Our ideal candidate is looking for a long-term job, wants to grow in the job, and would like to accept more responsibility as they get more experience.

What you will do:

  • Assemble custom scoreboards, shot clocks, and various sports timers in our shop.
  • Install scoreboards, media centers, and televisions using ladders, scissor lifts, or aerial lifts at our customer's location.
  • Keep accurate records and document installation, service, and maintenance work. (very important)
  • Maintain a safe and secure work environment by always following safety practices.
  • Answer service calls from customers and provide exceptional customer service.

Where you will work: Along with our small crew, you'll be working in our assembly shop in Oakville or at our customer locations installing electronics.

Our shop address: 2857 Sherwood Heights Dr Unit #15, Oakville. While this location is accessible by transit, due to the nature of this job, you're required to have use of a car to get to work and to our installation locations.

  • If you've worked with electronics before, this is probably the job for you.

Working with Computers: The majority of your job will be electronics assembly and installation, but you do need to be able to use a computer.

Experience in Microsoft Word, Excel, and email is required. If you learned how to use computers in your electronics technician training or in high school, that would be preferred.

What you get:

  • Hourly Wage: $28-35 per hour starting range.
  • Health Care Spending Account: After 3 months
  • Stable employer, in business for over 35 years

What is the boss like? He's the second-generation boss with big plans for the future He also puts family first and expects you will do the same. This means we understand that sometimes your family life is more important than work. And if this happens, we'll grant you flexibility to attend to your family matters. (If it happens every few days, though, that won't work for the boss)

Work Hours: We work 8:30am-4:30pm, Monday to Friday. Most mornings you'll meet the rest of our crew at our shop location.

Overtime: You might have to work overtime occasionally or for extended service calls. While you won't work overtime every day, our employees must be flexible and stay at a customer location and finish a job, even if it's past 4:30 pm.

  • You work well in teams and can get along with others.
  • You're trustworthy and will do the job, even if the boss is not there.
  • You're good at solving problems.
  • You're good at managing your time.
  • You have excellent attention to detail.

Travel: You might have to travel overnight with our crew to a remote location in Ontario or another province. This usually happens a few times a year, and we'll give you adequate notice when this will happen.

Background Check: We often work in schools, so an acceptable background check is required to be offered this job (vulnerable sector check).
