Job Description

The Dental Hygienist performs the usual and customary procedures of the Registered Dental Hygienist and is a member in good standing with the CDHO.  In addition to oral procedures, the hygienist must maintain an aseptic work area, be organized and self motivated, and demonstrate a high degree of sensitivity to all patient concerns to ensure patient comfort and confidence.

Qualifications

  • Diploma in Dental Hygiene
  • Registered Dental Hygienist with the College of Dental Hygienists of Ontario and membership in good standing
  • Excellent knowledge of principles and practices of dental hygiene
  • Interpersonal skills to work well in a team environment, and with patients
  • Standard First Aid - CPR C - AED certificate
  • Knowledge or experience with PC software / dental software / radiograph imaging software
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of periodontal conditions and appropriate treatments
