Mercedes-Benz Ottawa Downtown is looking for a Licensed Technician (or Apprentice – Level 2 completed) with a minimum of 2 years of experience to join our high-performing Service Team. Your Role
As a Technician, you play a critical role in delivering the Mercedes-Benz ownership experience. You'll be responsible for maintaining, diagnosing, and repairing vehicles to the highest standards — ensuring customer safety, satisfaction, and long-term brand loyalty.
You're detail-driven, professional, and committed to doing the job right the first time.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled maintenance and repairs
- Diagnose mechanical and electrical concerns efficiently and accurately
- Identify additional safety or service needs and document findings clearly
- Provide written and digital, prioritized repair recommendations
- Communicate repair procedures and findings to Service Advisors
- Conduct road tests and safety inspections
- Maintain clean, organized, and professional workspaces
- Stay compliant with all safety standards, laws, and regulations
- Participate in continuous improvement and time-management best practices
Communication & Teamwork
- Keep Service Advisors informed throughout the repair process
- Clearly document findings using strong written communication
- Collaborate with colleagues across all dealership departments
- Contribute positively to a team-focused, professional environment
- Commitment to the Brand
- Complete Mercedes-Benz and dealership training programs
- Stay current with new vehicle features, technologies, and updates
- Maintain a professional appearance and uphold dealership standards
- Be a champion for exceptional customer service at every interaction
Skills & Qualifications
- Strong mechanical and diagnostic aptitude
- Excellent time management and organization
- Outstanding customer service mindset
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Results-oriented, accountable, and adaptable
- Comfortable operating manual and automatic transmissions
- Basic computer proficiency
- Education & Experience
- College Diploma or Trade School Certificate in Automotive Studies (or equivalent)
- Minimum 2 years of experience as an Automotive Technician
- Mercedes-Benz experience preferred but not required
- Valid driver's license with a clean driving record
