Afternoon Warehouse Lead

Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Warehouse Lead to join our team. Loaves and Fishes strives to ensure that people across Vancouver Island have the food they require to thrive. Our warehouse is the main hub of our operations. As an Afternoon Warehouse Lead, you will be responsible for overseeing the afternoon and early evening operations of the warehouse, ensuring efficient and accurate distribution of products. Shifts will be 1-9 or 2-10pm, 5 days a week, likely Sunday-Thursday. This is a leadership role that requires excellent communication skills, strong attention to detail, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment. Full availability is a MUST.

Responsibilities:
- Supervise team of 10-15 people and coordinate warehouse activities, including receiving, storing, and shipping products
- Manage inventory levels and ensure accurate stock counts
- Oversee the picking, packing, and shipping of customer orders
- Collaborate with other departments to optimize warehouse processes and improve overall efficiency
- Train and mentor warehouse staff on proper procedures and safety protocols
- Monitor productivity and performance metrics to meet company goals
- Resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the warehouse operations
- Maintain a clean and organized warehouse environment
- Provide exceptional customer service to internal and external stakeholders
Experience:
- Previous experience in warehouse distribution or logistics is required
- Proficiency in Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel for data analysis purposes
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and inspire a team
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Customer service-oriented mindset with a focus on exceeding expectations
- Proven track record in process improvement initiatives within a warehouse setting
After a 3-month probationary period we offer a benefits package (medical and dental).
If you are a detail-oriented individual with a passion for leading teams in a dynamic warehouse environment and want to help us transition to our new 24,000 sq ft warehouse in the spring of 2026, we encourage you to apply for this position. Starting wage: $26.00 per hour. Will increase to $28.00 after successful 3-month probation period.
