Recreation Aide

Location Auburn Heights

Auburn Height Retirement Residence we are committed to providing exceptional care and meaningful daily experiences for our residents. We are currently seeking a compassionate and organized individual to join our team as Recreation Aide. Supporting front-desk operations and senior recreational programs with professionalism and care.

Overview:

Supports the planning and delivery of recreational and social programs that promote physical, emotional, and cognitive well-being for residents.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist in organizing and leading group and individual activities (games, crafts, fitness, outings).
  • Encourage resident participation and adapt programs to meet diverse needs.
  • Maintain activity areas and ensure safety during programs.
  • Document attendance and provide feedback on resident engagement.
  • Collaborate with other departments to support special events and celebrations.
  • Uphold resident rights and follow infection control and safety protocols.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; recreation or therapeutic program training preferred.
  • Experience working with seniors or in healthcare setting an asset.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends.

Job Type: Casual

Pay: From $17.41 per hour
