Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated Optical Assistant to join our team and provide exceptional support in our optical practice. The ideal candidate will assist with patient services, optical product management, and administrative tasks, ensuring a smooth and efficient operation. Duties

  • Greet patients and assist with their optical needs, including frame selection and lens options
  • Prepare and process patient prescriptions using optical equipment and software such as Epic
  • Assist in measuring and fitting eyewear to ensure proper fit and comfort
  • Maintain accurate patient records and update information within the practice management system
  • Manage inventory of optical products, including frames, lenses, and accessories
  • Provide excellent customer service by addressing questions about products and services
  • Support laboratory tasks such as lens edging, mounting, and quality checks when applicable
  • Collaborate with optometrists and other staff to ensure efficient workflow and patient satisfaction

Skills

  • Knowledge of medical terminology related to eye care is preferred
  • Laboratory experience or optical experience is highly desirable
  • Retail sales experience, especially in eyewear or related products, is a plus
  • Strong sales skills with the ability to educate patients on product options
  • Familiarity with Epic or similar electronic health record systems is advantageous
  • Experience in retail management or supervisory roles can be beneficial for future advancement
  • Excellent communication skills and a friendly demeanor to provide outstanding customer service
  • Ability to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $17.20-$20.00 per hour
