Join Medically Complex Services at St. Joseph's Care Group, where you will make a real difference supporting medically stable clients who require ongoing, specialized care with advanced technology. Our clients include those managing complex conditions like chronic ventilator support, intricate wound care, peritoneal dialysis, and post-surgical recovery. You will work with people admitted from both acute care and the community, providing expert speech-language pathology services that enhance communication, swallowing, and overall quality of life.

WHAT YOU BRING

Education/Experience:

  • Master's degree or equivalent in Communicative Disorders
  • Maintains active registration in the College of Audiologists and Speech-Language Pathologists of Ontario (CASLPO)
  • Encouraged to be a member of Speech-Language and Audiology Canada (SAC)

Skills/Abilities:

  • Ability to manage a clinical practice in a health care setting
  • Ability to communicate effectively and concisely, both orally and in writing
  • Ability to work independently, interdependently, and participate as a contributing member of a variety of teams within the workplace, community, and ministries/agencies
  • Strong project/time management, analytical/critical thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making skills
  • Ability to use independent judgment and maintain confidentiality of records, actions, and information
  • Interest/experience in Quality Improvement and Outcome Measurement
  • Demonstrated regular attendance at work

Assets:

  • Experience in dysphagia assessment and management is an asset
  • Experience with videofluoroscopic swallow study an asset
  • Experience with Augmentative and Alternative Communication is an asset

Conditions of Employment:

  • This position shall be conditional upon a satisfactory Police Vulnerable Sector Check (PVSC) where indicated, to ensure the absence of relevant criminal convictions.
