Position Summary:

The Line-X Prep Technician is responsible for preparing truck beds and other surfaces for the application of Line-X protective coatings. This includes masking, sanding, cleaning, and ensuring all surfaces are properly prepped to achieve high-quality coating results. The role requires attention to detail, a focus on safety, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Clean, degrease, and sand surfaces prior to coating application.
  • Mask off areas not to be sprayed using tape, plastic, and paper.
  • Inspect truck beds and parts for damage or defects before preparation.
  • Assist in moving vehicles or parts in and out of the spray booth.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of prep area and tools.
  • Follow all safety protocols, including proper use of PPE (Personal Protective Equipment).
  • Support the spray technician by preparing materials and assisting as needed.
  • Perform minor touch-ups and quality checks after spraying.
  • Maintain accurate records of prep work performed.
  • Assist with basic truck accessory installations.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Prior experience in automotive prep, detailing, or painting preferred (LINE-X or Rhino Linings experience a plus).
  • Prior experience with spray foam considered an asset.
  • Basic knowledge of hand tools, sanders, and masking techniques.
  • Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and stand for extended periods.
  • Attention to detail and commitment to quality workmanship.
  • Strong work ethic and ability to follow directions.
  • Valid driver's license Mandatory

Work Environment:

  • Fast-paced automotive shop environment.
  • Exposure to chemicals, dust, and noise (protective equipment provided).
