Tiny Stars Daycare will be the largest daycare in Grande Prairie, offering spacious indoor and outdoor play areas in the heart of the city. Our early learning program is based on the Alberta FLIGHT Curriculum Framework. In each room, Educators prepare weekly planning using an emergent curriculum, guided by the observation of children's interests, needs, and abilities.

Our philosophy is child-centered care. We provide a stimulating and supportive environment designed to motivate each child to develop, strengthen, and expand their mental and physical capabilities. Educators promote social and literacy skills to prepare children for school, and school-aged children are supported with age-appropriate activities that encourage exploration, creativity, and collaboration.

Job Summary

We are seeking passionate and dedicated Level 1, 2 or 3 Early Childhood Educators to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in early childhood education and a commitment to fostering a nurturing and stimulating environment for young children. This role involves creating engaging lesson plans, promoting social and emotional development, and ensuring the safety and well-being of all children.

Wage

  • Level 1 $17.50 plus top up of $2.62
  • Level 2 $19.50 plus top up of $5.05
  • Level 3 $20.50 plus top up of $8.63

Duties

  • Develop and implement age-appropriate activities that align with children's interests.
  • Foster a positive learning environment that encourages curiosity and exploration.
  • Assess children's developmental progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's progress and any concerns.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive team atmosphere.
  • Maintain an organized classroom that promotes learning and creativity.
  • Support children with special needs or disabilities, ensuring inclusivity in all activities.
  • Utilize strong time management skills to balance multiple responsibilities effectively.

Experience

  • ELCC Level 3, 2 or 1.
  • Experience working with young children in a classroom setting is essential.
  • Knowledge of special education practices is a plus.
  • Current Childcare First Aid Certification.
  • Strong communication, writing, organizational, and leadership skills are necessary for success in this role.
  • Current Criminal Record Check with Vulnerable Sector, and Child Intervention Check
  • Previous experience working with people with disabilities will be beneficial. Join us in making a difference in the lives of young learners

Job Types: Full-time, Part-time

Pay: $17.50-$20.50 per hour
