Position: Head Spa Technician and Receptionist (Hybrid)

Journeyperson Hairstylist Certification REQUIRED

Mac Q Beauty Spa is a growing beauty spa in Saskatoon, focused on providing high-quality Head Spa services. These treatments have become increasingly popular, and we are grateful to see a steady increase in client demand. Our premium service pricing allows strong earning potential for our team. Our goal is to create a calm, professional environment where both clients and team members can enjoy meaningful, long-term growth.

This position REQUIRES a valid Journeyperson Hairstylist certification.

Applicants without this certification will not be considered.

Position Overview

This is a hybrid role combining:

  • Head Spa Technician
  • Receptionist support during assigned shifts

No hair coloring, perms, or chemical treatments

100 percent focus on Head Spa services, scalp care, shampooing, massaging, and relaxation

Mac Q Beauty Spa also offers Facials, Lash Extensions, Waxing, and PMU services.

If you already have experience in these areas, you may offer additional services to earn extra commission with no income cap.

We also provide training support for official employees who wish to expand their service offerings.

Responsibilities

Head Spa Technician Duties include:

  • Perform professional Head Spa treatments
  • Shampooing and advanced scalp massage techniques
  • Provide relaxing head, neck, and shoulder massage
  • Deliver a luxury, calming client experience
  • Educate clients on scalp health and retail products

Receptionist Duties include:

  • Greet and assist clients professionally
  • Receive phone calls and messages
  • Schedule and manage appointments
  • Handle POS transactions and basic front desk tasks
  • Support daily spa operations
  • Maintain cleanliness and spa-level hygiene standards

Mandatory Requirements

  • Valid Journeyperson Hairstylist certification (required)
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills
  • Ability to multitask in a fast-paced, high-volume spa
  • Professional, reliable, and detail-oriented

Assets (Not Required)

  • Experience in facial, lash, waxing, or PMU services
  • Interest in receiving training to offer additional services

Compensation and Benefits

Compensation structure includes:

  • Base hourly rate
  • Service commission
  • Unlimited commission on additional services
  • Commission on retail product sales
  • 100 percent of tips
  • Vacation pay
