Position Summary |

The Maintenance Technician will report to the Operations Supervisor and is responsible for front-line tenant interaction and assisting with general property operations.

Regular work hours are Monday to Friday 8:00a.m. to 4:30p.m. with some scheduled after-hours work as required.

Key Responsibilities |

  • Responds to general carpentry (drywall, floor and ceiling tiles, etc.) and building esthetics maintenance Service Requests as generated through the Aspen app

  • Responds to doors, locks, key requests, general hardware and Service Requests as generated through the Aspen app

  • Provide backup to other members of the Operations team with trouble and problem investigations and solutions, and assist with investigative projects related to other building systems and emergencies

  • Carry out filter changes as required in conjunction with a Building Operator (includes disposal of used filters and vacuuming of fan plenums)

  • Complete tasks assigned by the Aspen app's preventative maintenance system daily, weekly, monthly, quarterly and annually

  • Audit and stock inventory of hardware and shop supplies for Building Operations staff

  • Respond to troubleshooting, minor repairs and tenant requests, within the scope of ability in an efficient manner

  • Assist with investigative projects within the scope of ability

  • Assist as required and as available in minor and major repairs to facilities within our buildings

  • Additional duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor and Operations Manager, such as, but not limited to:

  • Mechanical room cleaning

  • Assisting Building Operators with equipment repairs

  • Assist Building Operators in the Aspen Calgary portfolio as required

Qualifications |

  • Minimum High school diploma

  • 3 years of maintenance / repair background

  • Prior experience in a commercial real estate environment is beneficial but not necessary

  • General handyman skills

  • General drywall and door repair / installation skills

  • Locksmith knowledge would be an asset

  • Good knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel

  • Familiarity with using mobile apps for productivity purposes

  • Honesty and Integrity

  • Successful City of Calgary Police Information/Criminal Record Check
