Anticipated End Date: Position Title:Compliance DirectorJob Description:Compliance DirectorLocation: This role requires associates to be in-office 3 days per week, fostering collaboration and connectivity, while providing flexibility to support productivity and work-life balance. This approach combines structured office engagement with the autonomy of virtual work, promoting a dynamic and adaptable workplace. Chicago, Indianapolis or Richmond locations preferred. Alternate locations may be considered if candidates reside within a commuting distance from an office.Please note that per our policy on hybrid/virtual work, candidates not within a reasonable commuting distance from the posting location(s) will not be considered for employment, unless an accommodation is granted as required by law.The Compliance Director is responsible for directing foundational and strategic compliance responsibilities with consistent excellence that support the team and management.How you will make an impact:Directs projects, initiatives, regulatory sanctions, executive-sponsored initiatives, regulatory audits or exams, internal audits, accreditations, on-site reviews, risk assessments; audit planning, conducting mock audits, conducting audit training, managing audit evidence preparation, assessing audit preparedness.Leads compliance monitoring to identify process gaps, validate compliance levels, map processes, draft corrective actions/remediation plans, oversee implementation of corrective actions, prepare reports/presentations.Leads complex investigations and documents findings.Leads the compliance risk assessment process to identify, prioritize, and address regulatory and compliance risks.Establishes and maintains effective compliance governance forums, escalation pathways, and decision-making protocols.Develops strategic plans, makes recommendations to leadership; designs/implements annual compliance plan.Develops strong relationships with key leaders to identify and address compliance risks and failures and manage action plans designed to fully mitigate risk(s).Travels to worksite and other locations as necessary.Minimum Qualifications:Requires a BA/BS and minimum of 8 years health care, regulatory, ethics, compliance or privacy experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background.Preferred Skills, Capabilities and Experiences:Strong leadership/managerial skills and ability to motivate/coach other staff strongly preferred.Prior Healthcare industry/Medicaid experience strongly preferred.Ability to drive and execute compliance initiatives and strategies effectively.MS/MBA/JD or professional designation preferred.For candidates working in person or virtually in the below locations, the salary* range for this specific position is $119,768 to $179,652.Location: Chicago, IlIn addition to your salary, Elevance Health offers benefits such as a comprehensive benefits package, incentive and recognition programs, equity stock purchase and 401k contribution (all benefits are subject to eligibility requirements).
