Senior Director, Cloud Compliance and Integrations

Job Description

What is the opportunity?

As the Senior Director, Cloud Compliance and Integrations, you will lead regulatory compliance across RBC's Hybrid Cloud, Intelligent Operations, and ServiceNow programs by engineering control enforcement through automation on the Zephyr Control Plane. The scope spans public and private cloud and extends to all systems integrated with Zephyr.

You will also drive the integration between RBC Cloud and regional platforms in the US and Europe to establish a single, region- and platform-agnostic Zephyr Control Plane. Additionally, you will oversee technology integration for M&A activities, including Ventures and bank acquisitions.

You will lead a multidisciplinary team of risk and governance experts, program/project leaders, and control automation engineers across complex multi-region implementations.

What will you do?

Strategic Leadership

• Set the vision, strategy, roadmap, and mandate for Cloud Compliance and Integrations.

• Drive strategy and operations to enable CNB and RBC to operate as an integrated organization.

• Transform control management from manual activities to pipeline-enforced controls mapped to regulatory frameworks and consistently applied across cloud and mainframe platforms.

Continuous Risk Management

• Own the cloud compliance strategy across Azure, AWS, private cloud, and next‑generation services; align controls to RBC policies and Canadian/industry regulations (e.g., OSFI B‑13/B‑10, SOX ITGC).

• Lead internal audit cycles and external regulatory preparation; ensure evidence readiness, control testing, findings management, and remediation across platforms and business segments.

• Govern cloud risk posture; define and monitor SLOs/SLIs/KPIs; deliver executive and risk committee reporting on posture, resilience, and control effectiveness.

• Uplift processes and operating models to automatically and intelligently meet internal and external regulatory and compliance requirements across the US and Canada.

Relationship and Communication

• Resolve complex conflicts/issues and escalate to executive/Board level when required.

• Provide thought leadership to influence stakeholders across CNB and RBC.

• Engage with senior executives on AI, Cloud and ServiceNow compliance matters.

• Represent RBC at technology conferences to promote our brand and build partnerships with vendors and academia.

Managerial Excellence

• Model RBC's values (customer centricity, productivity, agility); mentor leaders and teams to achieve exemplary performance.

• Set direction for the team; coach and develop managers and directors; drive performance management and career growth.

• Identify and retain critical talent through integrations and transitions.

• Ensure succession planning for key roles to maintain organizational resilience.

What do you need to succeed?

Must‑have:

• Proven track record leading complex, high‑intensity transformational programs.

• Working knowledge of Service Level Management, Availability Management, Change Management, Problem Management, Incident Management, Asset Management, Configuration Management, and Knowledge Management.

• Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills.

• Effective communication and negotiation abilities.

Nice‑to‑have:

• Experience implementing control automation in CI/CD pipelines across hybrid cloud and mainframe environments.

• Familiarity with GRC/IRM and evidence lifecycle automation.

• Hands‑on leadership integrating platforms during M&A within regulated environments.

• Executive reporting to risk committees and boards on resilience and control effectiveness.
