Listowel, Ontario, Canada Riverview Park Residence Full time $19,000 - $38,000 per year

Riverview Park Residence is expanding their culinary team and looking for a professional line cook to prepare food to the prepared menu plans and resident dietary restrictions. This member of the team will be engaged with menu planning and become a pillar in our expanding culinary team as occupancy continues to grow.

Functions:

  • Participates in menu development and is responsible for the timely preparation, presentation and delivery of food to residents.
  • Responsible to guide and direct staff in the preparation, presentation and serving of food.
  • Responsible for ensuring the kitchen and dining room are clean and sanitary.
  • Cooperates with other facility staff with respect to special functions or events.
  • Ensures food service for meals are in alignment with Public Health meeting all safe food temperature standards.
  • Ensures dietary restrictions are met during meal service for resident needs.
  • Follows all Occupational Health and Safety Standards and reports any equipment for hazardous immediately to supervisors or joint health and safety committee member.
  • Participates in Fire Safety demonstrations and drills in accordance with Riverview Park fire and disaster plans.

Qualifications

  • Strong attention to detail
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highschool Diploma or Post-Secondary School Certificate minimum
  • Current Food Handlers Certificate
  • Must be familiar with the use of kitchen equipment and quantity food preparation
  • Must have empathy for, and an understanding of the needs of the elderly.
  • Ability to multi-task and ability to problem solve on the go
  • Must have the ability to speak, read and write English, and to follow oral and written directions, and do arithmetic calculations.
  • Good physical and mental health to sustain working in warm conditions.
  • Covid-19 and Flu Vaccination Strongly Recommended
  • Completion of mandatory training annually in accordance with the RHRA
  • Vulnerable Sector Check and TB Testing

Job Type: Part-time Hours Varying from 11AM- 7PM and 9:30 - 5:30pm
