Overview

We are hiring an experienced Executive Producer – Festival (Day-to-Day Lead) to help plan and deliver a new multi-day festival project in Canada. This is a senior leadership contract role responsible for overseeing planning, coordinating departments, supporting safety and operations, managing key partners, and ensuring a well-executed festival.

Reporting to the Festival Director, the Executive Producer will act as the primary execution lead, helping turn strategy into action. This role requires strong Canadian festival or major live event experience, sound judgement, and the ability to work collaboratively with municipal partners, venues, suppliers and internal teams. Hybrid work; on-site presence required during key phases and fully during festival operations.

Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day planning and delivery from pre-production to post-event wrap
  • Turn festival objectives into clear operational plans and timelines
  • Provide leadership to Production, Operations, Technical/Site, Safety, Security, Ticketing, Sponsorship, Marketing and Vendor teams
  • Support departmental leads and ensure communication and accountability
  • Represent the festival in senior meetings with venue, municipal and regulatory partners
  • Support permitting, compliance and safety coordination
  • Identify risks and help implement practical solutions
  • Ensure planning decisions align with established budgets and financial objectives.
  • Provide senior on-site leadership during build, live operations and tear-down

Requirements

  • 5-8 years experience leading festivals or major live event production.
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary teams in complex environments
  • Experience working with Canadian venues, municipalities and emergency services
  • Strong knowledge of festival production, logistics, safety and risk planning
  • Calm and confident leadership style; excellent communication skills
  • Highly organized, collaborative, and solutions-focused

Education

Formal post-secondary education in event management, production, business or a related field is an asset, but not required. Equivalent professional experience will be strongly considered.

Logistics

  • Contract role (approx. 5–6 months)
  • Hybrid: remote + in-person as required
  • Full availability required during festival build and operations

Job Type: Fixed term contract

Contract length: 5 months

Pay: $4,000.00-$6,000.00 per month

Work Location: Hybrid remote in Toronto, ON (York District)
