Role Description

This is a full-time, on-site Dispatcher role based in Ottawa, ON. The Dispatcher is responsible for scheduling and coordinating the transportation of goods, monitoring routes, and ensuring timely deliveries. Additional tasks include communicating with drivers, addressing delays or issues, providing real-time updates to clients, and maintaining accurate records of shipments and schedules. As a key team member, the Dispatcher plays a vital role in efficiently managing daily logistics operations.

Qualifications

  • Proficiency in logistics coordination, route planning, and fleet management
  • Strong communication and problem-solving skills to liaise effectively with clients and drivers
  • Proficiency with transportation management systems (TMS) and other logistics software
  • Attention to detail, organizational skills, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment
  • Working knowledge of transportation regulations, compliance, and safety standards
  • Excellent time management skills with the ability to ensure deliveries are prompt and efficient
  • Previous experience in logistics, dispatch, or transportation is an asset
  • High school diploma or equivalent; additional certifications in logistics or transportation are an advantage
