About the Role:
Reporting to the Manager, Student Talent Coaching and Engagement, the Student Talent Coach is responsible for supporting co-op students with their job search and work-term success through executive-style coaching and engagement strategies. The Student Talent Coach will share industry expertise with Faculty of Mathematics & Science co-op students by having a thorough understanding of the academic curriculum and extensive working knowledge of labour market trends within the Science, Tech, Engineering, and Mathematics (STEM).
Please note: Interviews will be scheduled in December, with an anticipated start date in January 2026.
The Student Talent Coach will:
- Engage, coach, and motivate co-op students effectively throughout their job search;
- Conduct critical reflections to help students establish expectations and co-op goals;
- Support students encountering difficulties with job search process and on job performance by establishing and implementing an action plan;
- Continuously assess students' needs, provide solutions, and track progress;
- Maintain the student information database for qualitative and quantitative information on students' skill development and engagement level;
- Participate, represent, and support work-related activities including Ontario Universities Fair – Toronto; Spring Open House – on campus; Fall Open House – on campus; Faculty Events.
Travel to locations that may not be accessible by public transportation is an essential component of this position; access to a reliable means of transportation is required.
Key Skills and Experience:
- An undergraduate degree in a relevant discipline, such as Human Resources, Computer Science, Engineering, Biology, or Chemistry;
- Current Ontario driver's license (Class G) with an acceptable driver's abstract;
- Knowledge of Science, Tech, Engineering and Math industry trends for co-op programs, preferably with an Engineering focus;
- Relevant experience with co-op/internship programs, sales and marketing, human resources, recruiting;
- Knowledge of Brock co-op programs, recruitment, human resources, talent acquisition, on campus recruitment and the hiring cycle;
- Solid computer competency including Microsoft Office, spreadsheets, databases, web applications, social media, and internet search engines;
- Advanced communications skills including professional public speaking;
- Ability to work with diverse groups, advising, coaching, and strategizing career planning objectives;
- Strong critical thinking with the ability to leverage existing resources to solve problems.
Preferred or Asset Skills:
- Completion of Career Development Practitioner (CDP) Certificate
Salary and Total Rewards:
- Job Grade [L], Salary Scale ($66,817- $108,353);
- Target Hiring Range: $66,817 – $68,000*
- This is a permanent position that includes:

*The final salary is based on experience, internal equity, and budget considerations within the target hiring range.
