Environmental Services Manager – Long-Term Care

Location: Smiths Falls, ON

Status: Full-time, Permanent

Home: Broadview Nursing Home

Broadview Nursing Home is a new long-term care home in Smiths Falls looking for an Environmental Services Manager to oversee housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance and help keep the home clean, safe, and well maintained for our residents and staff.

About the Role

Reporting to the Executive Director, you will:

  • Lead and support the housekeeping, laundry, and maintenance teams
  • Perform and coordinate day-to-day maintenance and repairs
  • Develop and manage staff schedules and staffing levels
  • Monitor budgets, supplies, and external contractors
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety, infection prevention and control, and LTC legislation
  • Participate on key committees (e.g., Joint Health & Safety, IPAC, Quality)

Qualifications

  • Supervisory or management experience in environmental services, maintenance, or facilities (LTC/healthcare or similar strongly preferred)
  • Hands-on maintenance skills (basic plumbing, electrical, carpentry, general repairs)
  • Knowledge of infection prevention and control and health & safety practices
  • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills

Relevant education in environmental services, building maintenance, or facilities management is an asset; equivalent experience will be considered.

Compensation

Salary: $55,000–$62,000 per year, commensurate with experience.
