As we grow, we are looking for an Architectural Technologist / Residential Drafter to join our design team and help bring these transformative projects to life.

The Role

This role is ideal for someone who is technically strong, creatively curious, and collaborative by nature.

This role is open to either:

  • A highly experienced Architectural Technologist / Drafter who can confidently carry projects through detailed design,

  • or -

  • A strong mid-level technologist with solid fundamentals who is motivated to grow under the mentorship of our Lead Architectural Designer.

You will work under the direction of our Lead Architectural Designer and play a critical role in transforming programs and concepts into fully resolved residential designs. You will be involved from early design development through detailed drawings, helping shape thoughtful, buildable, and beautiful homes.

This is not a production-only drafting role. Your technical expertise and design input matter.

Key Responsibilities

Work directly under the Lead Architectural Designer to develop residential designs.

Collaborate with our internal team and engage with clients throughout the design process.

Take a defined program and concept and develop it into:

  • Fully realized design solutions
  • Detailed residential drawings suitable for permitting and construction
  • Apply both technical knowledge and creative thinking to improve designs

Develop clear, coordinated drawings that reflect:

  • Residential construction best practices
  • Structural and envelope assemblies
  • Constructability and sequencing

Coordinate with engineering consultants and internal project stakeholders as required

What We're Looking For

Required:

Diploma or degree in Architectural Technology, Architectural Design, or equivalent practical experience.

Solid understanding of residential design, including:

  • Custom homes
  • Additions
  • Major renovations

Strong working knowledge of residential construction assemblies, including:

  • Foundations
  • Wall systems
  • Roof assemblies
  • Building envelope fundamentals
  • Ability to interpret design intent and develop it technically without losing creativity

Strong Assets:

Experience working in a design-build environment

Familiarity with permitting and construction documentation

Ability to balance aesthetics with real-world construction constraints

Comfortable working collaboratively and receiving design direction
