We're currently looking for Painter Prep 1 to join our dynamic Painting department in Chilliwack, BC.

The Role: Painter Prep 1

The Painter Prep 1 is an entry level, learn on the job position responsible for preparing paint materials, blending, cleaning & preparing various surfaces; spraying application while also maintaining the spray guns.

Key Responsibilities

  • [Prep aluminum, gelcoat, epoxy primers for topcoat and primer application
  • Spray application with a HVLP gravity gun
  • Clean and maintain spray guns and other tools, work area, and materials
  • Maintain inventory of all paint materials
  • Sanding and finishing epoxy and polyester fillers
  • Work in accordance with documented procedures and complete all applicable records

What You Bring

  • High school education or GED equivalent
  • Ability to do powder coat is considered an asset
  • Marine experience preferred
  • Bodywork and equipment maintenance experience required
  • Fiberglass and carbon fiber experience is considered an asset
  • 0-4 years' experience in spray application with primer and topcoat
  • Good interpersonal skills such as verbal/written communication and listening
  • Knowledge of epoxy primers, topcoat, paint materials and paint preparation
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Strong attention to detail.
