The Role: Paint Prep 2

The Paint Prep 2 is a skilled position responsible for advanced surface preparation and finishing for marine, cranes, and closures. This role will have hands-on experience with Bondo, Bodywork, and priming, as well as expertise in prepping and finishing a variety of surfaces.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prep aluminum, gelcoat, epoxy primers for topcoat and primer application
  • Spray application with a HVLP gravity gun
  • Clean and maintain spray guns and other tools, work area, and materials
  • Maintain inventory of all paint materials
  • Sanding and finishing epoxy and polyester fillers
  • Marine fairing and finishing
  • Work in accordance with documented procedures and complete all applicable records

What You Bring

  • 2 – 5 years' experience in paint prep, autobody work, and priming

  • High school education or GED equivalent

  • Bodywork, Bondo and equipment maintenance experience required

  • Marine fairing experience is considered an asset
  • Knowledge of epoxy primers, topcoat, paint materials, and paint preparation
  • Ability to do powder coat is considered an asset
  • Good interpersonal skills such as verbal/written communication and listening
  • Positive attitude and a team player
  • Strong attention to detail
