Job Description:

We are looking for a highly experienced and results-driven
Senior Data/ETL Engineer
to join our data engineering team. The ideal candidate will have deep expertise in designing and developing scalable ETL solutions using IBM DataStage (preferred) or other enterprise-grade ETL tools. You will be responsible for building robust data pipelines, ensuring data quality, and supporting analytics and reporting initiatives across the organization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, develop, and maintain scalable and efficient ETL pipelines using IBM DataStage or equivalent tools.
  • Collaborate with data architects, analysts, and business stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
  • Optimize data workflows for performance, scalability, and reliability.
  • Perform data profiling, cleansing, and transformation to ensure high data quality and integrity.
  • Develop and maintain technical documentation including data flow diagrams, mapping documents, and process documentation.
  • Monitor ETL jobs and troubleshoot issues in production environments.
  • Participate in code reviews, testing, and deployment processes.
  • Ensure compliance with data governance and security policies.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ Years of experience in Data Engineering or ETL development.
  • Strong hands-on experience with IBM DataStage (preferred) or other ETL tools such as Informatica, Talend, SSIS, or Apache NiFi.
  • Proficiency in SQL and working with relational databases (e.g., SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL).
  • Solid understanding of data warehousing concepts, dimensional modeling, and data integration best practices.
  • Experience with scripting languages such as Python or Shell for automation and data manipulation.
  • Familiarity with version control systems (e.g., Git) and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with cloud-based data platforms (e.g., Azure Data Factory, AWS Glue, GCP Dataflow).
  • Knowledge of data lake and big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark).
  • Exposure to DevOps practices and tools.
  • Understanding of data governance, metadata management, and data lineage.
  • Familiarity with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
