RESEARCH INSTITUTE OF THE MUHC
The Research Institute of the McGill University Health Centre (RI-MUHC) is a world-renowned biomedical and hospital research centre. Located in Montreal, Quebec, the Institute is the research arm of the McGill University Health Centre (MUHC) affiliated with the Faculty of Medicine at McGill University. The RI-MUHC is supported in part by the Fonds de recherche du Québec - Santé (FRQS).

Position Summary
Under the general supervision of the Manager of the Centre for Innovative Medicine (CIM), the incumbent is responsible for administering and adjusting treatments and medications to research cancer patients while ensuring the successful conduct of clinical research studies.

The Centre for Innovative Medicine is located in the Glen site hospital which is a unique center in Canada of 5000m2 dedicated exclusively to clinical research.

General Duties

• Administers chemotherapy, immunotherapy and treatments to research patients,
• Infuses blood products when necessary,
• Evaluates the health status of research patients,
• Determines if research patient can continue their treatments,
• Works closely with the interdisciplinary team to ensure proper care and oversight to the research patient and their families in clinical research trials,
• Provides appropriate resources to patients,
• Ensures proper research documentation,
• Reviews and documents protocol trainings.

Education / Experience

• DEC in nursing or Bachelor's degree in nursing is required,
• Good standing member of the OIIQ,
• Minimum 2 years of experience in medical/surgical, ICU or Emergency Room,
• Experience in (hematology and/or solid tumors) administration of treatments is preferred,
• Good Clinical Practice (GCP) and Health Canada Division 5 certifications an asset,
• Bilingual: French and English spoken and written,
• Solid written and verbal communication skills,
• Able to work under minimal supervision,
• Self-directed, flexible, organized with a good sense of work ethics.
