The Opportunity
Are you passionate about people and ready to grow your career in employee and union relations? We are seeking a Junior Specialist to provide support to Atira's three business units — AWRS, ADS, and AWAS. This is a developmental role designed for someone with a growth mindset who is eager to learn and progress toward a Specialist role.

What You'll Do
Working under the guidance of the Senior Labor Relations Specialist (or designate), you will:

Assist preparing performance management documentation and support managers in understanding processes and expectations.

Assist with workplace investigations including coordinate interviews and prepare supporting materials.

Maintain accurate records, update tracking systems, and ensure documentation is complete and organized.

Support the creation and delivery of training materials and resources.

Collaborate with the broader People & Culture (P&C) team, Payroll and Operations, and provide responsive support to the organization on Labor Relation matters.

Qualifications

  • Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Business Administration, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 1–2 years of HR experience with exposure to employee and union relations (e.g., supporting investigations, attending grievance meetings as note-taker, preparing documentation, assisting with performance management), preferably in a unionized environment.
  • Familiarity with HRIS systems (e.g., UKG/UltiPro), ticketing/tracking systems, and a demonstrated interest in professional development with a desire to progress within Employee and Union Relations toward a Specialist position.
  • Covid-19 (including booster) & flu vaccinations are recommended

Compensation
