Ensemble Services is a highly respected, community-focused harm reduction organization in New Brunswick. We are committed to providing innovative, compassionate, and life-saving services to vulnerable populations, including people experiencing homelessness, substance use challenges, and other forms of marginalization.
Our new community shuttle program is the first of its kind in the province, designed to provide safe, reliable, and accessible transportation to essential services. This initiative will help our clients access food programs, shelters, healthcare, education, skills development, banking, and other critical supports while ensuring dignity and respect at every touchpoint. It will also be providing additional important services to ensuring food and clothing are properly transported throughout the community to provide better access to those who need it and to reduce food waste.
Position Overview
We are seeking a professional, experienced, and compassionate Community Shuttle Driver to join our team. The successful candidate will operate our community shuttle on a fixed daily schedule, providing transportation to and from essential services throughout Moncton. The role requires someone who is not only a safe and skilled driver but also comfortable and experienced in working with vulnerable populations, including those who may be living in encampments or experiencing substance use challenges.

Key Responsibilities
· Safely operate the community shuttle according to a fixed daily schedule.
· Provide reliable transportation for clients to access food programs, shelters, healthcare appointments, education, and other essential services.
· Support harm reduction initiatives by facilitating access to on-board services such as:
o Wound care and basic first aid
o Naloxone training and overdose prevention
o Drug testing and harm reduction education
o Heat and frostbite treatment
o Social work and referral services
· Maintain a welcoming, non-judgmental, and respectful environment for all passengers.
· Monitor and report any safety or maintenance issues with the shuttle.
· Keep accurate records of daily routes, client interactions, and service delivery.
· Collaborate closely with harm reduction staff, volunteers, and partner organizations.
· Adhere to all organizational policies, health and safety regulations, and provincial transportation laws.
Qualifications
· Valid Class 4 driver's license and a clean driver's abstract. Can help obtain Class 4 driver's license for right candidate.
· Proven experience driving professionally, preferably in a community service, social work, or healthcare-related context.
· Familiarity with, and comfort in, working with vulnerable populations, including individuals experiencing homelessness, substance use challenges, or other marginalization.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to remain calm and professional in challenging situations.
· Commitment to confidentiality, client dignity, and harm reduction principles.
· Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and follow a fixed schedule.
· Knowledge of Moncton's geography and community services an asset.
Working Conditions
· Schedule: Monday to Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM
· Travel throughout Moncton, NB, in varying weather conditions
· Interaction with individuals in diverse and sometimes high-risk circumstances
· Physical demands may include assisting clients with mobility and navigating outdoor environments
Job Type: Full-time
