Job Summary

We are seeking a dedicated and vigilant Crossing Guard to ensure the safety of children and pedestrians at designated crosswalks. The ideal candidate will be responsible for directing traffic and assisting students in safely crossing streets, particularly during school hours. This role is crucial in promoting a secure environment for our community's youth. This position is in Port Elgin, ON. Candidate mjust have a clean criminal record and acquire a Vulnerable Sector Check.

Duties

  • Monitor traffic flow and ensure safe passage for students crossing the street.
  • Communicate effectively with children, parents, and drivers to promote safety awareness.
  • Use stop sign to direct vehicles and pedestrians appropriately.
  • Remain alert and attentive to potential hazards in the surrounding environment.
  • Report any unsafe conditions or incidents to school authorities or local law enforcement.
  • Training , uniform & coats and stop sign are provided
  • Previous experience in a role requiring strong communication skills is preferred.
  • Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions while maintaining focus on safety.
  • A commitment to child safety and community service is essential.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Up to $23.00 per hour
