We are seeking a motivated Structural Engineer to join our growing Bridges team. This role is based in our Guelph office location.
The successful candidate will support and lead the delivery of bridge and municipal infrastructure projects with a focus on project management, assessment, planning, design, proposal preparation, and construction support. You'll work closely with our bridge and municipal engineering teams and collaborate with other disciplines across our six office locations.
More specifically, the successful candidate will:
Lead or assist with conceptual, preliminary, and detailed bridge designPrepare technical reports, design calculations, drawings, and specificationsPrepare construction cost estimates, tender documents, and contract packagesReview designs for compliance with applicable standardsConduct site inspections for existing infrastructure and construction projectsConduct condition assessments of existing municipal infrastructureDevelop proposal submissions and assist with business development effortsCoordinate and delegate tasks to junior staff and review their workSupport growth initiatives in the Guelph areaKey Position Requirements- Graduate of Undergraduate Degree program
- P.Eng. in the province of Ontario, registered with PEO considered an asset
- 5+ years of relevant bridge engineering experience, preferably in consulting
- Proficient knowledge of the Canadian Highway Bridge Design Code (CHBDC), Ontario Structure Inspection Manual (OSIM), Structural Manual and applicable standards and legislation
- Strong technical design experience with reinforced concrete, steel, and other bridge materials
- Experience with project coordination and client communication
- Strong technical and analytical skills, familiarity with Civil 3D is considered an asset
- Full knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite
- Undertake some business development with a desire to do more
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Collaborative mindset with interest in mentorship and team leadership
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
