We are seeking an Estimating Student, for our Solar District that is available for 4 month or 8 months starting January 2026.
As an Estimating Student and depending on your assigned project, you will have the opportunity to contribute to our team by:
Responsibilities- Understands and utilizes PCL's estimating manuals, systems and forms
- Reviews quantity survey assignment with lead estimator or Chief Estimator
- Performs assigned quantity survey
- Gives quantities of major purchase items to purchasing department for pricing
- Transfers quantities to lead estimator
- Performs general subtrade solicitation duties
- Bids document control
- Performs bid day assignments
- Develops relationships with subcontractors
- Other duties as assigned by the Chief Estimator
- Candidates must have a strong desire to work in a construction environment and prior field construction experience will be considered an asset.
- Application of various computer software programs will be required, including word processing, spreadsheet applications and drafting.
