As a Client Policy Analyst for Governance at Broadridge, you will join a specialized research team sitting at the intersection of investor and issuer corporate governance practices. You will focus on all things proxy voting including plumbing, execution, data, and policy. This role offers a unique opportunity to develop expertise in the governance landscape.
In this role, you will support internal teams and external clients by analyzing proxy votes and voting trends. The ideal candidate has a curiosity about the corporate governance landscape and its role in financial markets and is eager to learn. Prior experience in corporate governance is not required. Curiosity, sound judgement, and willingness to learn are essential.
Key Job Functions/Responsibilities
- Analyze SEC filings and proxy statements to assess corporate practices.
- Interpret client policy mandates and apply them to upcoming shareholder meetings.
- Contribute to data management and research projects supporting governance analyses.
- Leverage analytical tools and models to identify patterns in proxy voting and governance trends to make quantitative and qualitative assessments.
- Collaborate with internal teams to prepare insights and recommendations for clients.
- Other duties as assigned
Basic Skill Level Requirements
Education:
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field; and/or equivalent experience
Experience:
- 1-2 years of experience in research, data analysis, or capital markets-related role (preferred)
- Being comfortable working with analytical tools and large data sets
- Familiarity with executive compensation and governance practices, willingness, and ability to deepen this knowledge quickly through training (preferred)
Skills:
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team environment and manage multiple projects
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Highly detail-oriented with strong organizational skills
- Strong analytical and critical thinking skills
- Intellectual curiosity and willingness to learn quickly
Tools:
- Proficient with Excel, familiarity with Python, and experience working with data

Compensation
- Salary Range: $55,000 – $60,000 CAD. Compensation may vary depending on a number of factors, including a candidate's qualifications, skills, competencies and experience, and location. Base pay is one part of the Total Package that is provided to compensate and recognize employees for their work, and this role may be eligible for additional discretionary bonuses/incentives, and restricted stock units.
