What this role is all about:
The Policy Analyst is responsible for developing, reviewing, and maintaining Beem Credit Union's policies, procedures, and technical guides. This role leverages research, industry best practices, stakeholder input, and collaborative project management to create clear, accurate, and forward-thinking documentation that supports branch and back-office operations, ensuring service excellence for all members.
This role is open to hybrid working arrangements within British Columbia.
What you'll do:
Policy & Procedure Development
- Reviews existing policies, procedures and technical guides for accurate and up-to-date content.
- Researches best practices regulatory requirements and applicable new legislation to develop sustainable and innovative policies and procedures across all departments.
- Collaborates with applicable internal stakeholder groups and subject matter experts across business divisions to gather input for relevant policy and procedure content.
- Collaborates with senior management to seek approval for new and updated policies.
- Proactively updates new content to relevant policies, procedures and other documents as it becomes effective.
- Reviews processes for alignment with organizational strategies and regulatory requirements and implements recommended changes as required.
- Collaborates with Learning & Development to develop education material, including administering educational seminars on policies and processes.
Technical Writing
- Composes and updates forms, procedural guidelines, job aids, guidance, and policy documents relevant to business and front-line operations.
- Maintains compliance with Beem's Form & Policy Frameworks and Style Guide in new documents and resources and revises existing documents and resources for updated language.
Resource Management
- Proactively identify opportunities to enhance processes and policies
- Manage and maintain Resource Libraries on the Intranet and AI Assistant, including document storage and inventory
- Respond to escalated inquiries, feedback, and technical issues related to resource access and functionality.
Projects & Collaboration
- Partners with other departments and teams on collaborative projects and tasks on a variety of topics from inception to implementation and rollout, including contributing to the development of associated training programs when required.
- Actively participates in temporary and project-based management groups and supports the planning activities and execution of supporting documents and resources.
Collaboration
- Collaborates with cross-functional teams, across the organization to ensure consistency and alignment with business and strategic objectives.
- Maintains strong collaborative relationships with external partners, agencies, and vendors to ensure the successful execution of initiatives.
- Provides support and guidance, as appropriate to team members and all partner departments on relevant topics.
What you'll bring:
- Degree or diploma in Business, Finance, Technical Writing, or Communications
- Minimum 5 years of related experience in technical writing and policy development
- Strong understanding of banking processes, regulations, and requirements
- Ability to accurately translate complex content in alignment with structured frameworks and guidelines
- Expertise in converting technical information into clear, plain language
- Proven ability to conduct thorough research and manage projects effectively
- Excellent command of English grammar, usage, and style
- An equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.
