We are seeking a skilled
Estimator with a specialization in Millwork, Kitchens, and Cabinetry
to join our client. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of architectural drawings, custom cabinetry, material takeoffs, and pricing strategies. You will play a critical role in ensuring accurate and competitive bids that align with our design and build capabilities.

Client Details

Our client is is a Greater Toronto based general contractor with over 30 years' experience in residential, institutional, commercial, and industrial projects.

Description

  • Participate in project development activities including scope definition and clarification, preconstruction planning, control estimate development and delivery
  • Provide preconstruction services including the preparation of preliminary budgets, cost plans, and value engineering opportunities
  • Determine general expenses and provide input into the margins/fees
  • Coordinate preparation and performance of full detailed quantity takeoff estimates, identifying inherent risk and opportunities
  • Soliciting information from subcontractors and suppliers, and analyzing subcontractor requirements
  • Assist in negotiating and awarding of contracts
  • Assisting in project planning and scheduling

Profile

  • 5-10+ years of estimating experience
  • Experience in the ICI and residential construction environment, on the General Contracting side of the industry.
  • Knowledge of lump sum, construction management and conceptual estimating for ELECTRONIC TAKE-OFFS
  • Experience using estimating software an asset (Timberline Estimating, Prime Bid, On-Centre Takeoff preferred)
  • Post-secondary education in quantity surveying/estimating, architectural technology or engineering technology
